FOLLOW
Follow is a political installation, where it looks at the refugees from Syria and within our local community and industry of miners creating protests to let their voices be heard. The placards placed against the wall suggests to the audience that a protest will be happening or has happened. By creating different levels of the placards act as a performance by bringing these placards to life and make the audience aware that a message is being brought to life.
The photographical prints made on the placards when you look closely at them they are photographs capturing a different type of trail as a path and a river, this immerses the audience into going off to seek the adventure of that trail.
For this installation I wanted to make the audience go onto a journey as a set does in the theatre, with the placards I wanted them to follow the trail and make their own opinions on it, even with the set creating different levels it supports the the placards creating a performance. With the prints I feel the viewer captures themselves into the picture to go an explore these paths to see where it will take them making them feel fully immersed.
